Detmaster MPG Pickling Grade Measurement SystemNovel Detmaster MPG system measures accurately on-line covering the entire strip surface the pickling level (nominal pickling, under pickling, over pickling) on pickling lines in order to maximize pickling line capacity and assure pickled strip quality. Increasing the pickling line capasity and assuring pickling process output with Detmaster MPG systemSR-Instruments Oy has introduced a new, very sensitive and stable measuring technology which is capable of measuring the remaining residual scale on strip surface. The measurement is a high resolution continuous measurement covering 100% of the strip surface. In operation the system will measure and visualize the microscopic phenomena of remaining residual scale to the operator via its user interface. Changes in the amount of residual scale of less than 2% can be visualized with the system. The real-time display and alarms indicate tot the operator the nominal pickling grade how far he is from it. Upper and lower thresholds with alarms are pre-set for all steel grades. Process development people have calculated that this new system increases the pickling line capasity in minimum by 5%. For a 1Mton pickling line this means 50.000 tons more in productivity every year! With our systems, line speeds could be increased even by 30% momentarily. The Detmaster MPG is a stand alone system and no other investments are needed to increase the line capasity. For further information about pickling grade, look at the reports on the right!

2.7.2012 Zhangjiagang Yangzi River Cold Rolled Sheet Company in China has recently acquired two pieces of SR-Instruments Oy's Detmaster 1400 MPH Pinhole Detection Systems for new Electrolytic Tin Plating Line and Continuous Annealing Line. The concerned Detmaster MPH systems are able to simultaneously detect tiny edge cracks and pinholes from size 10 um up to large holes. With these features Detmaster MPH systems guarantee the efficiency and the quality assurance at the new Electrolytic Tin Plating and Continuous Annealing Lines of the Works. 16.4.2012 Erdemir Works in Eregli, Turkey has recently acquired SR-Instruments Oy's Detmaster 1300 MPH Pinhole Detection System for Electrolytic Tin Plating Line to replace an obsolete pinhole gauge. The concerned Detmaster MPH system is able to simultaneously detect tiny edge cracks and pinholes from size 5 um up to large holes.
